Inspired by the Sea

These beautiful pieces of jewellery were handmade by me using sea glass found on the Seaham coastline, County Durham, which is very close to the site of many old glass factories dating back to the 1850s. The factories deposited their waste glass into the sea and after several decades it has washed up onto the shore. During this time the sea has shaped the glass into the jewels that we now know as Sea Glass.

Sea Glass Odyssey was created in the summer of 2021, which is when I started beachcombing the North East coast of England and discovered my passion for sea glass, or maybe reignited? I have happy childhood memories collecting sea glass on the Cornish coast and thinking then that they looked like beautiful jewels. I find real joy in turning these hidden treasures in to elegant pieces of Jewellery.
